Halloween 2014

Today was Halloween, I did not dress up this year. I wore my usual colors of black, and my outfit I would say is a little more simple, yet cozy. I wore my favorite, black and white striped dress with a cozy knit black sweater.  This necklace is DIY, beaded, I like the zebra stripes on them.

A DIY earring, this bead goes well with the beads on my necklace.
This belt has hand sewn beads on it, that I did.

My black watch, I tend to alway wear watches, this is made by a band called Navarre.

Lastly my cozy Uggs, with my black stockings, it was a pretty cool night.

Oceanside

So this past weekend, I headed out to Oceanside to spend a family trip with my future in-laws. I love spending time with my in-laws, they are so easy for me to be myself around. Its feels good to know that my future marriage will not have any additional stress from in-laws. I did an Beach-Halloween theme to my outfits over the weekend.

Here is Saturday's outfit:

This Little Miss Spooky shirt I owe, is my favorite and only Halloween shirt I owe. Goes well with my Halloween theme.

These Starfish hairclips, goes with my beach theme. Orginally these were clips I bought from a Craft Fair, but they were attached to bobby pin before, that that bobby pin really didn't hold well, so I took the starfish off, and glued them on some snappy white hair clips. I also wore my fish ring which is so small it only fits my pinky finger. It goes well with the Beach theme.

My dolphin necklace, and blue/yellow Daiso Blue Planet watch, and blue DIY braclet, really goes well with the beach theme.

I love these bat socks, they go well with my Halloween theme, the Vans, are dark floral. The flowers kinda give a Summer feel to them, that gives the a beach look, and the black goes with Halloween.

Then there is Sunday.

I wore my glasses today, and I like how they went with my outfit anyways. I wore a beach-theme purple dress. It has pictures of a palm tree and clouds on them. I wore my purple Blue Planet Daiso watch,

O yeah I painted my nails black recently also, to go with the Halloween theme, and wore my Black Mood ring.

I clipped on my Mickey Ghost pin on my belt, and wore my favorite black studded hat.

With my black bat earrings, got them from Target. and my Lego Skeleton necklace. I made this charm using a Lego Skeleton, and one of my favorite Halloween themed necklaces that I owe.

I really think these studded black sandals goes well with my Halloween theme.

We also did some pumpkin carving over the weekend, it was a lot fun.

Pumpkim Festival

Today was the second day of the Pumpkin Patch Festival at Cal Poly Pomona, and my fiance went there to pick out a pumpkin for our annual pumpkin carving. My outfit was definetly more casual. I tend to wear more black during the month of October to go with my Halloween theme.

I wore my hair mostly down, and black glasses today, my gray peace sign shirt (covered mostly by the pumpkin, and long black skirt.

I enjoy decorating my hair, and this is a handmade clip bow.

My earrings are handmade by me also. Black rose, and an orange Daiso Blue Planet watch. The orange goes with the Halloween theme also, and matches the colors of the pumpkin.

Lastly my orange tiger socks, and black Keds, those Keds are starting to really get wore out.

Well, maybe till next week or so, I be sharing more of my creative yet fun style.

Ramen Yokocho Fest

So this weekend I went to the Ramen Yokocho Fest at the Pomona Fairplex with my lovely fiance. I definitely wanted to dress for this occassion.

So starting from the head down. I decided to place my hair in a low side ponytail. I wore my erasers-cup-of-noodle easers. My shirt had a Cup of Noodle label on it, can't really see it here, but will show you later in another photo. My skirt is fabric from Jo-Ann's, I bought a while back, yes handmade. I basically wrapped the fabic around my waist, sewed it, and attached a zipper on the back. Wore my comfy Gap sneakers, and pink socks.
My cup of noodle label. I transferred this label myself on the t-shirt.

My eraser earrings. Yes these are actually erasers. I bought them from Daiso, and turned them into earrings.

Other jewelry pieces I wore that day included a pink and yellow watch from Daiso, and flower ring, they had matching colors to my outfit.

Me really going at my noodles.

It was another great Saturday for me.

About Me

Hi,
My name is Linh. I am half Vietnamese and Caucasian. My last name isn't really Fujikawa, it's my fiance, and I look forward to having it as my last name someday. I really didn't have much of a fashion sense growing up since I attended a private Catholic school growing up, and had to wear uniform everyday. It was the same outfit everyday. I did change my clothes afterschool, but would just wear whatever my father/mother would choose for me. It didn't matter what it was, as long as I got into more comfortable clothes. Then I starting attending a private highschool but they didn't have uniform, and only a strict dress code. I noticed every morning I was having trouble deciding what to wear every morning, and actually went to my own father for advice on what colors match each other. Lol. I did have more a stay at home father growing up than mom, so I hope that pretty much explains those situations. I really did not dress in the most appealling clothes those first two years of highschool. Then, my parents decided to transfer me to a public highschool, and they also wore street clothes. I began to experiment more with my fashion, and admired other girls' fashion senses. There were a lot girls from parts of Asia who went my highschool, and always seemed to wear very fashionable clothing. Of course, in Hong Kong, Korea, and China, these girls have different fashion sense than the Western eye. A lot my clothing were hand-me-downs from my Aunt, and some were store bought. I noticed I enjoyed dressing in a punk-rock style a lot in highschool. Then college began for me, and I continued to have the same fashion sense over time. After about 2-3 years attending a nearby community college, I decided it be best to go to a Trade school since I did feel like I really going anywhere with my major at the time. Trade school was scrub uniform everyday again. I did not shop for clothes for a whole year! It was not fun :(...After that, I noticed it started to feel unusual for me to start dressing "normal" again. I would take extra time changing and choosing what to wear. I would check my outfits in the mirrors afterwards, seeing how comfortable I felt. Than one of my friends complimented my style, saying that I dress very cute. I started to feel more comfortable with my style again.
Another thing in my life that really influenced my style was getting a year long pass to Disneyland. When I started taking trips to the park with my boyfriend (who my fiance now) I noticed a lot people would wear Mickey Mouse shirts, and I wanted to join in. So I bought a couple of Mickey-Mouse t-shirts, and placing together these "Mickey-Mouse" themed outfits.
The main purpose of this blog is show you how I like to placed together a very "themed" outfit, to typical day outfits that are very comfortable yet stylish. I am mostly a "no-heels" gal, and rather wear sneakers. I also DIY, so I definatly would love to show how I, DIY some of the projects I do.
